Mouse control in Harlow & West Essex

Mice · Harlow & West Essex

Mice can get through a gap the width of a pencil and breed quickly. We treat the mice you have and find the gaps they are using, so the problem does not keep returning.

01 Signs to look for

Signs you need mouse control

  • Small droppings, about the size of a grain of rice, in cupboards or along skirting boards
  • Gnawed food packaging in kitchen cupboards
  • Scratching in walls, ceilings or under kitchen units
  • Shredded paper or insulation used as nesting material
  • A musty, ammonia-like smell

02 Procedure

Our mouse control process

  1. Step 01

    Inspection

We look for droppings, runs and nesting areas, and trace how the mice are getting into the property.

  2. Step 02

    Treatment

We place tamper-resistant bait stations or traps in the areas mice are using, away from children and pets.

  3. Step 03

    Proofing

We block entry points around pipes, cables, door frames and under kitchen units with mouse-proof materials.

  4. Step 04

    Follow-up

We return to check results and remove equipment once activity has stopped.

07 Questions

Mouse control FAQs

Q.01

If I've seen one mouse, are there more?

Usually, yes. Mice live in groups and are mostly active at night, so one sighting often means more are present.

Q.02

Why do mice come indoors in autumn?

As the weather turns colder, mice look for warmth, shelter and food, so activity in homes often increases from autumn onwards.

Q.03

Do you treat mice in flats?

Yes. In flats and terraced houses mice can move between properties, so we also advise on working with neighbours or the managing agent.

Q.04

How do mice get into a house?

Through gaps around pipes and cables, under doors, through damaged air bricks and via the loft. Mice can squeeze through a gap the width of a pencil, so proofing is a key part of our mouse control.

Q.05

Are your mouse treatments safe for pets?

We use tamper-resistant bait stations or traps placed away from children and pets, and we explain any precautions before we start.

Q.06

Do you offer mouse control near me?

If you are in or around Harlow, yes. We provide mouse control across Harlow, Epping, Loughton, Theydon Bois, North Weald, Ongar and Debden, for homes, rented properties and businesses. Call 07388 896412 to arrange a visit.
